AirBaltic A220 carries Estonian flag
- 2 July 2019 -
AirBaltic has painted one of its Airbus A220-300 aircraft, YL-CSJ, in a special Estonian flag livery. The aircraft has also been baptised with the name of Estonia's capital, 'Tallinn'.
Fifteen painters carried out the paintjob in 1,000 hours with 250 liters of primer, paint and lacquer. The paint layer is 120 microns thick (0.12 mm).
During the first five months of 2019 AirBaltic carried over 210,000 passengers to and from Estonia, 31 percent more than in the same period last year. It launched three new direct routes from Tallinn this year, and now offers twelve direct services from the city's airport.
As of June, airBaltic has based two A220-300 aircraft in Tallinn. YL-CSJ is AirBaltic's second A220 in a special flag livery. YL-CSL carries the Latvian flag since November 2018, to celebrate Latvia's 100th anniversary. (Photo: AirBaltic)
Apart from the A220, EgyptAir currently operates a fleet of 15 Airbus aircraft and has 15 A320neo aircraft on order. (Photo: Airbus)
