EAT Leipzig takes over Etihad A330-200Fs
- 19 August 2018 -
EAT Leipzig (Germany), a subsidiary of DHL, takes over five Airbus A330-200F aircraft from Etihad Airways (Abu Dhabi). The first ex Etihad Crystal Cargo aircraft (D-ALMA / ex A6-DCA) has already been delivered from Abu Dhabi to Leipzig.
As part of a reorganisation plan, Etihad has withdrawn its five A330 freighters from operational use. Instead it will standardise it's cargo operations on the Boeing 777F, of which it currently operates five. The Airbuses, delivered in the period 2010-2017, have been in storage since early 2018. One of them has flown for the Gulf carrier less than a year.
