Airbus delivers A330neo to AirAsia

AirAsia has taken delivery of its first Airbus A330neo. The aircraft will be operated by the airline's long-haul affiliate AirAsia X Thailand.
The new airliner is leased from lease company Avolon and it is the first of two A330neos to be delivered to the airline by the end of the year. AirAsia X currently operates 36 A330-300s and is the largest customer for the A330neo with 66 of the type on firm order.
The new-generation A330-900 will be based at Bangkok Don Mueang International Airport and flown on services to markets like Australia, Japan and South Korea.
The AirAsia X Thailand A330neo seats up to 377 passengers in a two-class seat layout: 12 Premium Flatbeds and 365 economy class seats. (Photo: Airbus)
