Sichuan Airlines takes delivery of Airbus A350

Sichuan Airlines (China) has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-900. The aircraft is leased from aircraft lessor AerCap.

In its A350s the airline offers a two-class cabin layout with 331 seats: 28 business, and 303 economy. Sichuan Airlines will initially fly the new aircraft on domestic routes within China, followed later on its international 'Panda Routes'. The aircraft is painted in a special Panda Route promotion livery.

Sichuan Airlines is an all Airbus operator. Its fleet counts 135 aircraft, including 123 A320 Family aircraft and twelve A330 widebodies. In 2016 the airline signed a Letter of Intent for leasing four A350-900s, and earlier in 2018 it signed an agreement to order ten A350-900s, which became as firm order at the Farborough Airshow.

By the end of July 2018, Airbus recorded a total of 890 firm orders for the A350 XWB from 46 customers worldwide. (Photo: Airbus)
