- 30 June 2019 -
KLM has taken delivery of its first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner. It wears special '100 Years of KLM' logos.
The aircraft, PH-BKA, arrived at KLM's homebase Amsterdam Schiphol in the morning of Sunday 30 June. PH-BKA would perform its first commercial flight to Dar es Salaam and Kilimanjaro on 2 July.
KLM already operates 13 Boeing 787-9 aircraft and will receive six more which were initially intended for Air France, instead of Airbus A350s. The airline will also take delivery of seven more 787-10s.
KLM is the oldest airline still operating under its original name in the world. It will celebrate its 100th birthday on 7 October 2019. It was formed on 7 October 1919 and began operations with De Havilland DH-16 biplanes on 17 May 1920. (Photo: Boeing)
