Biman orders two Boeing 787-9s

Boeing 787-9 Biman Bangladesh Airlines

- 17 November 2019 -
Biman Bangladesh Airlines (Biman) has ordered two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

The order was announced at the 2019 Dubai Airshow, but was already signed at an earlier stage and recorded as an 'unidentified order' on Boeing's website in October.

The airline says that it has a good domestic network and plans to extend its international presence to include more destinations in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. This process has already begun with the recent launch of a new non-stop service from Biman's Dhaka homebase to Medina in Saudi Arabia.

The 787-9s are to complement four 787-8 jets already in Biman's fleet. The airline also operates four Boeing 777-300s on its long-haul routes. (Image: Boeing)
