Embraer E175-E2 takes to the air
- 12 December 2019 -
The Embraer E-Jet E2 has completed its maiden flight on 12 December 2019.
The first E175-E2 took off at 11:07 AM local time and was in the air for two hours and 18 minutes, flying around São José dos Campos.
In command of the aircraft were company pilots Captain Mozart Louzada and first officer Wander Almodovar Golfetto and flight engineers Gilberto Meira Cardoso and Mario Ito. The crew evaluated aircraft performance, flight quality and systems behaviour.
Embraer will use three E175-E2 test aircraft in the certification campaign. The inaugural flight completes Embraer's three-member E-Jets E2 family. The aircraft joins the E190-E2 and E195-E2, which both are already in commercial service. So far, Embraer hasn't sold any E175-E2 aircraft. Recent orders were all for the earlier E1-version.
