Including the new order, Delta has ordered a total of 112 A321s, all powered by CFM International CFM56 turbofan engines. The airline took delivery of its first A321 in March last year.
Many of Delta’s A321s are being delivered from the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama. By the end of 2017, this facility is expected to produce four aircraft per month, mostly for Airbus’ U.S. customers.
Delta has postponed the delivery of ten of its 25 Airbus A350 aircraft on firm order for two to three years. The intention remains to take delivery of its first A350 later in 2017.
