Air Vanuatu selects Airbus A220

Airbus A220 Air Vanuatu.

Air Vanuatu, flag carrier of the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu, has signed a firm order for four A220s: two A220-100s and two of the bigger A220-300.

Air Vanuatu will be the first user of the A220 in the Pacific region. The airline is based at Port Vila Bauerfield International Airport and flies to 26 domestic destinations and offers international flights to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and New Caledonia. It began services in 1987. The airline currently operates one Boeing 737-800 and two ATR 72 turboprops.

Apart from the A220, EgyptAir currently operates a fleet of 15 Airbus aircraft and has 15 A320neo aircraft on order. (Photo: Airbus)
