China Aviation Supplies Holding Company (CAS) has signed an agreement for the purchase of 300 Airbus airliners: 290 A320 Family aircraft and 10 A350 XWB Family aircraft.

It is not known yet which airlines will receive all those airplanes, they will be distributed later. According to Airbus' latest China Market Forecast 2018 to 2037, China will need some 7,400 new airliners in the next 20 years. It represents more than 19 percent of the world total demand for over 37,400 new aircraft.

By the end of January 2019, around 1,730 Airbus aircraft were in service with Chinese operators, of which 1,455 A320 Family, and 17 A350 XWB Family airplanes. According to Airbus, the order reflects the strong demand from Chinese carriers, including domestic, low cost, regional and international long haul aircraft. (Photo: Airliners Now)
