- 11 January 2019 -
The first Airbus A330neo in the colours of Brazilian airline Azul Airlines has performed its maiden flight today from Toulouse Blagnac Airport, France.

Azul Airlines (Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras) will lease the aircraft from lessor Avolon. The airline will acquire five A330-900s from the lease company. The aircraft will be used on flights between Brazil and Europe. Delivery of Azul’s first A330neos should have taken place in 2018, but because of late delivery of Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, Airbus has been forced to delay deliveries of the aircraft type.

Azul’s A330neos will seat 298 passengers in a two class layout: 34 in business class and 264 in economy class. Azul currently operates seven A330-200s. (Photo: Airbus)
