BA says goodbye to Boeing 767

British Airways Boeing 767-300ER G-BZHA

- 25 November 2018 -
Today, British Airways says goodbye to the Boeing 767 after 28 years of passenger services. The final flight in BA-service takes place tonight (25 November) from Larnaca to London Heathrow by G-BZHA. Arrival of flight BA663 is expected around 22:40 hrs.

BA has operated 28 767-300ERs and leased three of the smaller 767-200ER version from USAir for some time. The 767-300s were fitted with Rolls-Royce turbofans. The only other customer for this engine option was Yunnan Airlines (China) for three aircraft. The first 767-300ER was delivered to BA in early 1990. BA used the aircraft type on its busier short-haul flights within Europe and to further destinations in North- and Middle America, the Middle East and Africa. During the last couple of years the BA 767s flew to European destinations including Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Rome and Athens, seating 244 passengers in a two-class configuration.

The 767's task has been taken over by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the Airbus A321 and A321neo. BA took delivery of its first A321neo late this week. The photograph shows G-BZHA landing at Frankfurt in 2016.
