Boeing 787 Dreamliner News
Shanghai Airlines becomes 787 operator
- 21 September 2018 -
Shanghai Airlines has received its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The airline wants to use the airplane to upgrade regional and long-range services from its Shanghai homebase.
Shanghai Airlines has three 787-9s on order, part of an order for fifteen 787s by its parent company China Eastern Airlines. The new airplane wears a '100' symbol on the fuselage, because it is the 100th airplane in the Shanghai Airlines fleet. The airline will fly its initial 787s on popular domestic routes like Shanghai to Chengdu and Beijing, as well as regional routes to Japan and Korea. In the coming years it wants to open new long-range routes with the aircraft.
